Sacral Occipital Technique
Sacral Occipital Technique is a style of treatment offered at FORM Chiropractic. It is most commonly known for its gentle approach and full body aspect. We at FORM want to show you some other ways this technique can be used and what it can be used for.
Most commonly we use it as an occipital and sacral assessment which allows us to check the top of the spine all the way to the bottom of the spine. We assess things from sways in the body, fascial tensions in the body and determine which pelvic categories you fit into. SOT can be used to treat and assess people who have symptoms such as;
Lower back pain
Disc injuries or sciatica
Hypomobility of the sacro-iliac (pelvis)
Ilio-lumbar ligament tightness / pain bending down in the pelvis
Jaw pain
Tightness in the outside of the thigh muscles
Rib irritation
Changes in gait / walking
Headaches
The reason why we love SOT so much is the cranial adjusting technique, not only do we love it, but our clients do too! To you it feels like a head massage, but we are influencing anchor points on the head of the dural meningeal system, which is likely to then improve motion in the cranial articulations, if restricted.
Most commonly people present to our treating room not knowing about this technique or nor what cranial adjustments are, so if you are interested in trying SOT or know someone who might benefit - Get in contact with us or book an appointment online.
